There have been two generations of Toyota Century in the past half century. They’re pictured in order.
1967-1982 - V8
1982-1997 - Facelifted version
1997-Present - V12 (2 1JZ VVT-i’s with a common, 6 bolt main crank) First car
The V12 is exactly as beastly as you’d expect. If you know how Toyota tunes their V8s (to make all thrust seem effortless) then you’ll know what to expect out of the V12, with 10% lower vibrations than the 1UZ. It’s rated at like 340 ft lbs of torque and wouldn’t-you-guess 280 PS (wink). But this engine at 2000 RPM makes more torque than a 1UZ at full tilt ahead.
If the Lexus LS is an S-class, then the Century is a Rolls Royce. It’s a car made to be driven in, it’s nearly handmade, doesn’t share switchgear with other Toyotas.
